Old- Fashioned Harvest Fall Festival

At Mason Neck State Park
October 18, 2008 (11AM – 5PM)

Mason Neck State Park is on a peninsula formed by Pohick Bay on the north, Belmont Bay on the south and the Potomac River on the east. The Penisula is an active heron rookery. The park also attracts several other migrating and non-migrating species of birds, including whistling swans and assorted species of duck. Bald eagles also inhabit the area. The park boasts several hundred acres of hardwood forests consisting of oaks, holly, hickory and other species of trees. In addition, several wetland areas are also found in the Mason Neck.
This fall-inspired festival features arts and crafts, craft-making demonstrations by vendors, demonstrations of old-fashioned skills, and old-time games for kids and adults alike. The festival also has hayrides, music, food and other fall activities. There’s a $50 booth fee for vendors, but the fee is waived for vendors willing to demonstrate their skills throughout the day.

Leesylvania Multicultural Festival 2008

Leesylvania State Park is located in the southeast area of Prince William County, which is approximately 25 miles from Washington D.C. and Fredericksburg. From I-95 take Rippon Landing Exit 156 on route 784 to US 1, Route 610 (Neabsco Road) east two miles.
On October 11, 2008, Multicultural Festival will be attended by people from around the world to celebrate the diversity of this unique community. Enjoy international foods, drinks, crafts, music, dance, and lots of entertainments from numerous cultures. Come and join the excitement! Free admittance for everybody.

Breast Cancer Walk October 2008 at D.C.
